Peter trained in the aerospace Industry and after several industrial positions, joined the French Consultancy Metra International, working internationally particularly on new technology projects and markets for Governments and major companies.

He and a colleague bought out the UK industrial side of the consultancy and has since focused on market models and technologies. Here, Peter is concerned mainly, but not exclusively with materials and processes.

Luke Gear

Senior Technology Analyst at IDTechEx

Luke Gear is a Senior Technology Analyst at IDTechEx where he leads the research on Electric Vehicles. He has a specialist knowledge of the markets and technologies underlying electric vehicles, energy storage for electric vehicles, and stationary energy storage, as well as an expertise in forecasting, technology benchmarking and competitive landscape analysis.

Luke's background is a Master of Physics from the University of Bath, where he studied a variety of topics including photonics, nanoscience and condensed matter. His interest for sustainable energy began with his Master's placement at Culham Centre for Fusion Energy, where he helped improve the efficiency of a piece of specialist scientific software. His work contributed to the ITER project, a fusion experiment in Southern France that hopes to be the first to generate a surplus of energy.

Today, Luke speaks regularly both at IDTechEx events and external events, sharing the latest insights on electric vehicle and battery trends. He has provided keynote presentations and technical masterclasses across three continents.

Krisztina Kalman-Schueler

Managing Partner of DMM Advisory Group

Krisztina is the Managing Partner of DMM Advisory Group, an international management consulting company providing strategy, commercial and technical consulting services for the metals, mining and diamond sectors. Krisztina has gathered over 20 years expertise in strategy and management consulting. Her list of clients includes several mining majors, metal producers, many junior mining and exploration companies, investors and metal trade associations. She has a Bachelor degree from the University of Cologne, Germany, and an MBA from NYU Stern Business School, New York, USA.

Dr Luis Tercero

Head of Business Unit Systemic Risks, Fraunhofer Institute

Dr. TERCERO is head of the Business Unit Systemic Risks and coordinates all work related to materials and raw materials at Fraunhofer ISI in Karlsruhe, Germany. Starting 2009, he has managed or been actively involved in a variety of projects (German, EU, Industry) related to critical raw materials, raw material supply and demand, changing demand through emerging technologies, dynamic modelling of material flows, raw materials policy and resource efficiency. He had a leading role in supporting the Ad-hoc Working Group on Defining Critical Raw Materials (2009–2010 and 2013–2014) in the context of the EU Raw Materials Initiative, and is currently a member of the Operational Groups of the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) on Raw Materials. He received his formal training as a chemical engineer (B.Sc., M.Sc., Dr.-Ing.) in Nicaragua, the USA and Germany.

Ernest Scheyder

Ernest Scheyder, Mining and Future Energy Correspondent, Reuters

Ernest Scheyder is a journalist at Reuters covering the future of energy and transportation, with a focus on copper, lithium, cobalt and other minerals powering the electrification trend reshaping our global economy. He also writes regularly on electric vehicle and battery technology.

Previously, he covered the oil and natural gas industry for eight years, including a stint living in North Dakota’s Bakken shale oil patch for Reuters, telling the stories of the fracking boom and bust from a unique perch.

A Maine native, Scheyder is a graduate of the University of Maine and the Columbia Journalism School. He’s a fan of endurance sports, and has completed five marathons and ten triathlons.
