Bernard Respaut leads the International Copper Association’s (ICA) European branch, better known as the European Copper Institute (ECI), and ICA’s Clean Energy Transition Program. As ECI’s Chief Executive, Bernard leads ICA’s European operations and guides an engaged and motivated team, which serves as the lead advocate for the copper industry in the EU. Bernard’s favorite project is his leadership of the Global Copper Decarbonization Roadmap, a landmark project that aims to develop pathways for copper-industrywide decarbonization. Passionate about the green transition, one of the most interesting parts of his job is piloting the European team through the challenges and opportunities presented by the European Green Deal.
Holding an Engineering degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Louvain and an MBA from the University of Chicago, Bernard contributes his wide international management experience to the further development of both ECI and ICA.
